Snowman ideas

Our family advent calendar told us to make a snowman out of snow or something else white. Since we have not had any snow this year, I found some great alternative ideas.

Great Elf on the Shelf Ideas

Cherry the Elf has returned again this year. The kids love him and cannot wait to discover what he has been up to while they sleep. My oldest tried to sleep in the hall, so he could catch Cherry leaving.

Here is a great blog with some super cute and creative ideas for your Elf at home. Thanks Making Life Whimsical!

Hello Old Friend!

Sadly, this poor little blog and been neglected. BIG TIME! I am going to make an attempt at bringing it back. We will see how it goes. Wish me and the blog luck.

My daughter turned two at the end of August. She is obsessed with Elmo, so naturally Elmo became the theme for the party. I made Elmo and Oscar the Grouch Cupcakes and an Elmo veggie tray.

Pampered Chef Microwave Chip Maker

I ordered this from a pampered chef party I went to recently. It is so cool! You can make "chips" using a variety of different veggies. We have tried sweet potatoes and red potatoes. I am dying to try turnips, apples, eggplant, beets. It is a fun way to get my kids and husband to eat veggies and it totally works! You can find it here for $26.50.

After School Snack

When my boys get home for school they are starving! I have been trying to come up with some healthy alternatives to snack. This last week it was beautiful and all they wanted were Popsicles... which do not really fill them up. I found this idea and loved it. It is yogurt frozen with a pretzel stick for the handle. I thought this was perfect: easy, fun and filling! I found it here on the Parents Magazine website.

Chalkboard Pot

I found this cute pot at Molbaks and fell in love with it. They had them in all sorts of different colors. I bought two different bright blue pots and a magenta one. I loved the little chalk board bird. There were other chalk board pictures to choose from, but these just called my name. (These would be super cute and easy to make!)

Ninjago Cupcakes

My middle son recently celebrated his 5th birthday. Ninjago is a current favorite at our house and he insisted on having Ninjago cupcakes. So, I was being lazy and found pictures of Ninjago guys, printed them out using the colored printer and was planning to make cupcake toppers with them. When the birthday boy found out he was horrified. He wanted real Ninjago cupcakes. Now, I love to make cakes and usually will do something fun without using a mold. But, I was worn out and the thought sounded painful. Terrible, right??? But, I of course made him his Ninjago cupcakes. Not my best work, but he LOVED them!

DIY Pallet Garden

Pinned Image
I saw this on Pinterest and thought it was such a clever way to plant a garden if you are working with a very small space. I love the idea of putting flowers or herbs in it. It is pretty basic and takes few supplies: a pallet, landscape fabric, a staple gun, potting soil and some plants.  I might just have to try this in our backyard. For step by step DIY directions head to Life on the Balcony and check it out.
